Mint Mocha Coffee Recipe
Hey friends! I’m coming at you today with an awesome coffee drink that also happens to be incredibly easy to make a mint mocha coffee. It’s full of chocolate, mint, and caffeine complete with instructions on how to turn this into a cocktail.
I recently received a sampling of New England Coffee’s holiday coffees – Mint Mocha, Gingerbread Cookie, and Eggnog. New England Coffee is still celebrating their centennial year and what better way to celebrate then with fun, festive flavors?! These flavors are a MUST for your holiday parties this year!
For today’s recipe, I chose to use the mint mocha and let me tell you, it’s really good. I used to make a version of this drink back in my coffee shop days. Some nights I couldn’t decide between coffee and hot cocoa, so I started combining the two together.
It’s a drink that I still make all the time but with different flavor variations. Sometimes caramel, sometimes coconut, sometimes just mocha. Today, it’s mint – on of my favorite variations of the drink. (Really, they’re all so good it’s hard to actually pick a true favorite.) Pair these with my peppermint mocha donuts and you’ve got yourself a winning combo.
Now here’s the important part: you can make this two ways. For an alcohol-free version, I use a splash of peppermint extract to bump up that mint flavor. For an adult version, I like to add a shot of Peppermint Schnapps. This is a really great drink for those chilly days when you need a little something special.
To make these even MORE special, top your peppermint mocha coffee off with a dollop of white chocolate ganache whipped cream, a drizzle of my favorite hot fudge sauce, a sprinkle of chopped peppermint candies, and top it off with a candy cane. You guys, it’s like Christmas in a mug.
I like to make this mint mocha coffee recipe when we’re decorating our Christmas tree. We like to make a nice afternoon of it – special drinks, gingerbread house decorating, and decorating our house and tree. It’s one of those fun traditions that the kids will have fond memories of for the holiday season.
I’m also hosting another New England Coffee themed giveaway, just like I did with my Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins. We’re meeting family in AZ, all coming together to just “wing it” for the holidays! We’ll be in a hotel, so the mini tree, little ornaments, lights, stockings are being packed. Santa has a plan… and hopefully all will be well! 🙂 Different at least!
Christmas will be sad, since my step-father died, in September. My Mom can’t pay the thousands of dollars of medical bills. My Mom and Step-Father’s house is where we all gathered every year. My Step-Father, Jim, always put up a 10 foot Christmas tree and decorated the outside of the house with Christmas lights. I’m not sure what were doing, but we will go to my Mom’s place. Hopefully, we’ll have a good time.
So sorry to hear that Debbie… Wishing you and your mom a peaceful season ❤️
We will celebrate with all our traditional decorations including some handmade ones that are decades old. I will make cookies, tons of them, and maybe fudge too, with walnuts, my favorite! Christmas dinner will be just a few of us so I am hoping to be able to have Prime Rib but if not, a good roast will be just as welcome. It’s the company of those you love that is important.
We will have a special dinner with my family for Christmas Eve, then presents and another meal that my mother will cook on Christmas
We always get together on Christmas Eve with our extended family to catch up, feast and pass gifts. Looking forward to it!
My celebrating the holidays will begin on Christmas Eve day with my sons, their families, and finally with a granddaughter. Healthy foods, cookies, and hot cocoa while playing our traditional “find the ornament” game, laughing, loving, enjoying their company. Christmas morning will be gluten free hot cinnamon rolls with piping hot coffee and cream, and gifts from Santa. Later we will all travel to my brothers home to celebrate cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents. Now that the cousins have all grown, getting married, having families. Love!
We always do a gift exchange exchange with our neighbors, a huge progressive throughout the neighborhood and a huge party. With family, we play games, eat tons of food, watch Christmas movies and just spend time together
I will be spending Christmas with my hubby and his family this year in the mountains. It will be very nice!
