- 9 medium Granny Smith apples peeled, cored and cut into chunks
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- 1 C water
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
Place all ingredients in a slow-cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.
After 6 hours, mash apples to desired thickness. I use a potato masher because I like my applesauce with some chunks of apple in it.
Serve warm or cold.
